I have this head canon where eponymous town of Night Vale of the podcast Welcome to Night Vale is ultimately of the world from the Craft Sequence, and got somehow misplaced during the God Wars. Night Vale is a cautionary tale of what happens when a town’s god is killed, and yet no Craftsmen and -women step in to take their place.
Or have they? Who are the City Council? Are they a coterie of Craftsmen and women who are hiding the secret of the city from the rest of the townsfolk? Is Night Vale what happens if a Crafty town gets misplaced somewhere where there is no Craft? Are the Mysterious Hooded Figures children of a now-dead god?
And what about Desert Bluffs? Is it possible the reason why that town is so wrong because their god has died and be reborn?
