A man who is incredibly morally upright, and almost exclusively puts the greater good before his own needs is put in a situation where he nearly snaps. He is finally pushed into extremely personal action when the love of his life disappears - he resigns from his position in order to pursue them across country.
I know I thought of other things as well, but this was mostly spawned by realising the tremendous similarities between Evans’s Captain America & Captain Carrot Ironfoundersson.
(You could also draw parallels between Angua's condition and Bucky's past as the Winter Soldier tbh)
