Critical Role liveblog episode 32: "You're a man who is afraid of what you owe."
Welcome back to the Suffering of Travis Willingham. The Mighty Nein have just shown Caduceus the Light of Creation Beacon, and Caleb warned Fjord not to consume it:
Jester: “You have so many balls inside of you already.”
Caleb: “Ja, balls deep.”

#
They’re back in Alfield meeting with Bryce and we get another Molly gutpunch.
I’m not sure whether to be glad that Matt isn’t letting Molly just disappear without a trace or feel gutted at the repeated reminder of his loss. Both? Both. Both is good.
#
“Oh, we could forge another letter!” says Jester, cheerfully, in front of the lawmaster of Alfield.
(They’re lucky that Bryce likes them and is a good sport.)
#
Beau: “What’s the best dick you’ve seen?”
Jester: “Honestly? Well…”
Matt:

(In case you don't know, the answer is Molly. Taliesin is right chuffed.)
#
Nott’s aggressive style of affection is … unique
“I’ll fucking kill you if you try to pay!!”
#
“Your delightfully pleasant evening purveyor of down pillows and blankets, Crute, is over eager to show you where you can leave him the fuck alone.”
#
They’re now planning to stop in Trostenwald to tell Molly’s old friend Gustav (he from the circus) about what happened.
Beau: You know, I never really thought about the fact that when you’re with someone when they die, it’s kind of your responsibility forever to tell anyone who doesn’t know what happened.
#
Sam just described Cad as ‘seven-foot Bob Ross’ and, well, he’s not wrong
#
It's really nice for the Mighty Nein to have this visit to Alfield and the reminder of how they can make a difference, especially after the Iron Shepherds arc where several of them have been wrestling with re-evaluating their lives after Molly’s death.
(Even if Caleb has got overwhelmed as they’re leaving.)
#
This whole bit with Caduceus and Gustav is fascinating.
“I know a guilty man when I see one.”
(Taliesin to Matt, after it all shakes out: That was the best whisper I’ve ever had, by the way. I’m not telling them what you said, but that was DEEP.
Matt: That’s a 27 insight [roll].)
#
@GalacticJonah did comic pages with that conversation about guilt between Beau, Fjord and Caleb, and it’s beautifully done.
#
Interesting: when Fjord looks into the Beacon, Matt describes it as a ‘momentary release, like a tether that previously had gone unseen is loosened’. I wonder if that’s his connection to his patron.
#
“Look to purchase, Jester! Just look!”
Travis, your husband is showing. Also like that’s gonna happen.
#
“Why did you do this, Matt? Why did you put this in front of us?”
“You know exactly why. Because it’s funny.”
#
“We have a dog! What the fuck did we just do? This was like a Renn Faire purchase.”
#
And we leave our heroes having just arrived in the port city of Nicodranas.
(And this is, what, roughly 56 hours until I'm caught up?)
Jester: “You have so many balls inside of you already.”
